PRIDE WOMEN RANKED 11TH IN NORTHEAST REGION

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College women's basketball team was ranked by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as the 11th overall team in the Northeast Region during second edition of the 2016 Regional Rankings released today.

The rankings were posted by the NCAA on their official website and Pat Coleman of D3Hoops.com on his Daily Dose blog.

The Crimson and Gold dropped one spot from last Wednesday's rankings when Pride were graded as the 10th best team in New England. The final public edition of the rankings will be released next Wednesday, February 24th.

The Pride (21-3, 17-0 NECC) have clinched the first seed and hosting rights in the upcoming New England Collegiate Conference tournament slated for next weekend. Last night, Regis defeated conference opponent Lesley University 122-52, with Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.), Brandi Bonneau (Derry, N.H.) and Chayla Louro (Randolph, Mass.) setting new single game program records in the contest.

The Crimson and Gold have also won 89 consecutive NECC regular season games dating back to the 2011-2012 season when the school first joined the conference. The NCAA record is 92 wins set by Maryville University from January 15, 2004 to February 24, 2009.

Regis has won 32 straight home matches and hasn't lost a contest on Higgins Court since falling to Tufts University on January 4, 2014.

Regis wraps up their regular season when they head to Bennington, Vt. for a conference contest with Southern Vermont on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
