ALIBRANDI SCORES 22 IN LOSS TO BISON

Weston, Mass.—The Regis College men's basketball team lost to Nichols College Wednesday (Feb. 16) by the score of 66-72. The Pride moves to 14-10 overall n the season and 7-5 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference. The visiting Bison move to 6-17 overall on the season and are 3-9 in TCCC play.

The Bison started the first quarter with an up-tempo offense that was led by Ryan Sheehan (North Attleboro, Mass.Bishop Feehan).  Sheehan hit two back to back three-point shots to put the bison up 18-6. The Pride was able settle on offense and cut the lead to 18-10 with the help of Ryan Chambers (Abington, Mass./Abington) who made two key three-point shots.

Senior Phil Alibrandi (York,Maine/York ) was able to open up the Pride offense scoring seven points in the first half. This offense was not enough as the Pride's defense could not contain Sheehan who finished with 15 points in the first half. Both teams tallied 19 rebounds in the first half. Freshman Robert Edwards (Idaho Falls, Idaho/Phillips Exeter Academy) led the Pride with five in the first half. The Bison finished the first half with the lead entering halftime.

The second half opened with the Bison continuing to score on offense. The Bison brought its lead to 42-23. Alibrandi continued to score in the second half tallying 22 points in the game. Sheehan finished the game with 23 points. Justin Kuntz (Wallingford, Conn.Sheehan) doubled his first half scoring total by 15 points in the second half to bring his total to 22 in the game. The Bison continued to play strong defense and controlled the ball late into the second half. The Pride fought back on defense but could not get any rhythm on offense. The game ended with the Bison keeping the lead 77-62.
