DANIEL WEBSTER SHUTS OUT PRIDE, 3-0

NASHUA, N.H. – Rookie Jose Vargas (Lawrence, Mass.) tallied a match-high seven kills and fellow rookie Darrien Mason (Farmington, Conn.) added four kills as host Daniel Webster College topped Regis College, 3-0 in a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) men's volleyball matchup Wednesday night at Mario Vagge Gymnasium.

DWC improved to 13-10 overall (8-1 NECC), while the Pride dropped to 2-11 (2-7 NECC) with set scores of 25-20, 25-17 and 25-14.

Joe Coye (Plaistow, N.H.) paced the Pride with six kills, while Dan Berdichevsky (Wayland, Mass.) added three. Angel Aguilar (Silver Springs, Md.) dished out ten assists for Regis.

Kyle Lovering (Manchester, N.H.) added three kills and a match-high three service aces, while Tyler Little (Marlboro, Mass.), Joe Walz (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and Casey Monahan (Shelton, Conn.) added three kills apiece for the Eagles.

Walz knocked down all three of his kills in the opening set as DWC hit .200 and Regis was limited to hitting -.214. Vargas went to work in the second set hitting for four kills as DWC improved to .350. The Eagles closed the match hitting even with Mason knocking down two kills.

Coye added four of his kills in the third set to lead Regis.

The Eagles will travel to Endicott at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30th for their next match, while Regis next visits Newbury on Wednesday, April 3rd for a 7:00 p.m. NECC showdown.
