WALTHAM, Mass. - Regis College men's basketball fell to the Judges of Brandeis University, 90-61 in a non-conference matchup at the Red Auerbach Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Brandeis opened the first half with a 11-3 scoring run featuring three-pointers from Toby Harris, Matthew Cadogan, and Elias Rodl to lead 21-4 just over halfway through the first half. Regis responded with a layup made by Russell Rau (Westminster, Mass.) followed by a free throw from Rau after a foul to close the defecit by 14. The Pride increased its offensive output in the final stretch of the first half, closing out with a 9-2 scoring run including two three-pointers from Aamyr Sullivan (Middletown, N.Y. ) and a three-pointer from Rau to trail at 34-48.
Jamir Harvey (Robbins, Ill. ) started the second half with a jumper, followed by a three pointer made by Ned Fitzpatrick (Providence, R.I.) on an assist from Tate Pike (Bellingham, Mass.). The Judges went on a 5-0 scoring run, increasing their lead to 64-41, just before extending their lead after an 11-6 scoring run to finish with a final of 90-61.
Rau led the Pride with 17 points and five rebounds. Sullivan collected 12 points with three rebounds and one assist, while Pike earned three assists. Overall, Regis shot 23-for-56 (41.1 percent) from the field and 8-for-20 from the three-point line.
Harris finished with 15 points for the Judges while Rodl earned 13 points with four rebounds.
Regis (3-1) is scheduled to host Framingham State University on Tuesday, Nov. 26 for a 7:00 p.m. start.
