WESTON, Mass. – Regis College put up a strong fight but fell 86-70 to Elms College in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's basketball matchup Wednesday at Higgins Court.
Elms struck first, but a three-pointer from Jamir Harvey (Robbins, Ill.) briefly put the Pride ahead. Both teams traded baskets until Russell Rau (Westminster, Mass.) hit a layup and a three-pointer, giving Regis a five-point edge. A 5-2 scoring run extended the lead to nine at 24-15, but the Blazers responded, tying the game at 33. A late layup and jumper from Regis sent the Pride into halftime with a 37-35 advantage.
