LANG, TAGGER JR. NAMED TO NABC HONORS COURT

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Regis College men's basketball team had a pair of its players named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches 2014-15 Honors Court, it was announced earlier this week. The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents and gifts that players possess off the court, and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom.

Graduating senior Jeff Lang (Raymond, N.H.) and junior Jeff Tagger Jr. (Brockton, Mass.) earned the honor, and join Ryan Chambers '14 as the most recent recipients.

Lang and Tagger Jr. join a record number 1,000 student-athletes from more than 350 colleges and universities earning the NABC Honors Court distinction.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:

  • Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
  • Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2013-14 academic year.
  • Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
  • Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach

Jeff Lang, a criminal justice major, appeared in 15 games for the Pride during his career, making his first career start back on February 17, a 58-50 win over Lesley University.

In his first year with the Pride, Jeff Tagger Jr. helped lead the Pride to their first NECC Championship and NCAA Tournament bid while being named to the All-NECC Second Team. In 28 games, Tagger Jr. averaged 12.0 points per game on 43.3% shooting, to go with 4.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.2 steals per game.
