WESTON, Mass. – Regis College junior guard Jordan Monts (Springfield, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week in Men's Basketball it was announced on Monday morning.
The MVP of the NECC Championship Tournament, Monts shot 50% from the field while averaging 9.5 points in leading the Pride to the title. Monts added six assists, four rebounds, and a pair of steals including five helpers in Regis' NECC Championship game upset of Southern Vermont College. Monts hit five of six free throws, in a loud and deafening atmosphere during the final 23 seconds of the game to clinch the Title for the Pride.
Monts, who started and played in 26 games for the Crimson and Gold (19-8), finished the season averaging career-bests in points, (9.8), shooting (42.9%), rebounds (4.8) assists (1.4) and steals (1.1) per game.
