JEAN-GILLES, TAGGER JR. NAMED ALL-NECC

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's basketball team had two players named to the New England Collegiate Conference All-Conference Teams on Monday morning. Sophomore forward Sam Jean-Gilles led the selections with an All-NECC First Team nod, while junior guard Jeff Tagger Jr. (Brockton, Mass.) received an All-NECC Second Team selection.

Jean-Gilles, the former NECC Rookie of the Year, helped lead the Pride (19-8) to their fourth-straight NECC Tournament appearance and first conference championship in program history. The sophomore averaged 12.4 points, 2.4 assists, and 0.3 blocks while ranking ninth in the NECC in rebounds (6.9) and fifth in steals (1.6) per game during 16 conference contests this season.

Tagger Jr. who was named to the NECC All-Tournament Team took over the game during conference bouts averaging a team-leading 13.3 points and shot a consistent 46.8% from the field which was good for 14th and 16th in the NECC. He also averaged 4.6 rebounds, ranked 15th in the conference in assists (2.7) and ranked second in steals (1.9) during 16 conference games.
