PRIDE EARN #3 SEED, HOST DANIEL WEBSTER TUESDAY

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College won 11 of its final 14 games, including six-straight to end the regular season, and the Pride have earned the #3 seed in the upcoming New England Collegiate Conference Tournament. The Pride (11-14) will host #6 Daniel Webster (11-14) on Tuesday night in an 8:00 p.m. first round matchup.

The winner of Regis and Daniel Webster will meet second seed Newbury in a semifinal contest on Friday at Elms College.

Osanto Marc (Kissimmee, Fla.) has dominated the second semester as the sophomore is averaging 14.5 points per game on 43% shooting while also adding 5.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. Junior Ryan Chambers (Abington, Mass.) has also played well this year, averaging 12.0 points and 2.9 rebounds per game and ranking second in the NECC in three pointers made with 66 on the year. Carlos Bermudez-Glean (Boston, Mass.) has put together a strong freshman campaign as the three-time NECC Rookie of the Week currently ranks second in the NECC in steals (2.7 spg)and is 10th in the league in assists (2.4 apg).

Elms College has secured the top seed in the tournament. The Blazers (16-9 overall, 14-2 NECC) earned a first round bye along with second seed Newbury College (14-11, 12-4 NECC).

Fifth seed and defending champion Becker College (13-12, 9-7 NECC) will travel to fourth seed Mitchell College (13-11, 9-7 NECC). The winner will play top seed Elms in a semifinal contest on Friday.

The top six teams qualify for the NECC Championship. Predetermined tiebreaking procedures were used to seed teams with identical conference winning percentages.

First round games will be played on Tuesday, February 19 at the higher seed. Winners will advance to the semifinals on Friday, February 22 at Elms College. Semifinal winners will meet Saturday, February 23 at Elms.
