WESTON, Mass. – For the fourth time this season, Regis College freshman Carlos Bermudez-Glean (Boston, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week, it was announced Monday morning by the league office. The rookie helped lead the Pride to a perfect 3-0 mark in games last week and the No. 3 seed in the upcoming NECC Men's Basketball Tournament.
Carlos Bermudez-Glean averaged 10.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.3 steals per game in a 3-0 week for the Pride. The rookie began the week with six points, two assists, and three steals - scoring the deciding freethrows - in a 66-64 win over Becker. Bermudez-Glean followed that up with a 7-for-8 shooting night from the floor, including a 4-for-4 showing from three, en route to 18 points, four rebounds, five assists and three steals in a 79-66 win over Newbury. The first year guard wrapped up the week with seven points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal in a 59-42 win over Daniel Webster.
Bermudez-Glean helped lead the Pride to wins in 11 of their final 14 games, including six-straight, en route to the No. 3 seed in the NECC Tournament. Regis will take on No. 6 Daniel Webster College on Tuesday night in an 8:00 p.m. game.
