WESTON, Mass. – For the third time this season, Regis College men's basketball player Carlos Bermudez-Glean (Boston, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week. Bermudez-Glean helped lead the Pride (5-13, 5-4 NECC) to a 58-54 win over Mitchell College on Saturday afternoon.
Against the Mariners, Carlos Bermudez-Glean scored a game-high 15 points to go with four rebounds, an assist, and three steals. The freshman gave the Pride a 54-52 lead with just over two minutes to play with a pair of freethrows and helped the Pride rally past the Mariners and hold on for the 58-54 win.
This season, Bermudez-Glean is averaging 9.7 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.6 steals per game in 16 games played. He is currently second in the NECC in steals per game, 13th in assists, and ranks 20th in points per game.
Carlos Bermudez-Glean and the Regis College Pride return to action on Tuesday night when they hit the road to take on first place Newbury College in an 8:00 p.m. game at Hellenic College.
