MARC, BERMUDEZ-GLEAN SWEEP NECC WEEKLY HONORS

WESTON, Mass - Regis College sophomore guard Osanto Marc (Kissimmee, Fla.) and freshman guard Carlos Bermudez-Glean (Boston, Mass.) have been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for men's basketball, as it was announced by the conference's offices on Monday morning.

Playing in his first games of the season, Marc wasted little time making his impact for the Pride, averaging 19.3 points in a three game week. The sophomore put up 19 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and recorded three assists and one steal in a 59-51 loss to FDU-Florham on December 29 in the opening game of the Trinity Invitational. In the consolation game of the tournament, Marc chipped in with 16 points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal as the Pride suffered a setback against host Trinity.

On January 2 against Mass.- Darmouth, Marc poured in a season-high 23 points on 8-for-15 shooting, grabbed five rebounds, and had three assists as the Corsairs slipped past Regis, 80-76.

The honor marks the second time this season that Bermudez-Glean has been named the Rookie of the Week this season.

The rookie sank five points and added one rebound against FDU-Florham. The next day against Trinity, he scored seven points, grabbed one rebound, and added one steal.

Bermudez-Glean saved his best performance of the week for last after shooting 57.1% from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 on free-throws for 15 points against Mass.- Dartmouth. The freshman also chipped in with three rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

In eleven games this season, Bermudez-Glean is averaging 9.6 points per game, 1.8 rebounds per game, and 2.5 assists per game, while also shooting an impressive 70.2% on free-throws.

The Pride (0-11, 0-2 NECC) will be looking for their first win of the season as they get back to conference play tomorrow night against Mitchell College at 7:30 p.m.
