HEATHMAN QUALIFIES FOR ECAC AND DIII NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS IN 500-METER DASH

WESTON, Mass.—In the first meet of the
season, mid-distance sprinter Adam Heathman (Newbury, Vt./Oxbow)
posted qualifying marks in the 500-meter dash for both the Division
III Indoor New England and Eastern College Athletic Conference
Championships. Heathman ran a qualifying time of 1:08.23.
The Regis College Indoor Track and Field team competed at the
Reggie Lewis Center (Roxbury, Mass.) where Heathman was one of two
team members to qualify for at least the Indoor Division III New
England Track and Field Championships. Normally a 200 and 400
runner, Heathman was added to the 500-dash event by head coach
Christine Kloiber prior to the meet.
His time set a school record for the 500, and just missed
running a qualifying time in the 200 in his most recent race at
Harvard.
The Harvard Invitational was the team’s last meet of the
semester. Both the men and women’s teams return to the track
January 15 to face Tufts University.
