Pride Well-Represented on GNAC Weekly Awards

WESTON, Mass. – After five consecutive wins and a week of stellar offense, senior Ahnasia Mckinney (Chelmsford, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week, while first-year player Avery Mola (Cheshire, Conn.) was named GNAC Rookie of the Week.

Mckinney began the action-packed week collecting 25 assists, 10 digs, and eight kills in a four-set match against Lasell University on Wednesday. She also had three blocks against the Lasers. In a three-set sweep against Norwich, she passed the 20-assist mark while contributing seven digs, two kills, and two blocks. Following the Pride's 3-2 victory against Framingham State on Saturday, Mckinney finished the match with 42 assists, 11 digs, and three blocks, earning a double-double.

Mola earned her best week of the season, contributing to the Pride's winning streak. The outside hitter averaged 4.08 kills and 2.75 digs per set, while averaging a hitting percentage of .296. With 16 kills and 15 digs against the Lasers, Mola also opened the week with a double-double in a four-set victory on Wednesday. Carrying the momentum, she had 10 kills in a 3-0 sweep against Norwich on Saturday, followed by a season-high 23 kills along with 13 digs in a five-set comeback victory against Framingham State. Mola had two double-doubles for the week as well as eight service aces across the three matches.

Regis (21-7, 11-1 GNAC) is set to travel to Rivier University on Wednesday, Nov. 1, for a GNAC match beginning at 7:00 p.m.
