Ahnasia Mckinney Repeats as GNAC Setter of Week

WINTHROP, Mass. - For the second consecutive week, senior Ahnasia Mckinney (Chelmsford, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week, announced Monday afternoon, Sept. 11, by the league office.

Mckinney started the week with her second consecutive double-double last Tuesday, collecting 36 assists and 10 digs to help the Pride take WPI to five sets. She flirted with a triple-double Thursday with seven kills, 12 assists, and eight digs against Plymouth State, plus she hit .500 in the match.

Saturday, Mckinney again came close to a triple-double as the Pride defeated Suffolk in three sets, ending up with seven kills, 16 assists, and nine digs, hitting .545 in the process. She concluded the week with 19 assists, five kills, five digs, and two block assists against UMass Dartmouth.

Mckinney is currently second in the GNAC in assists per set at 6.96 as she has dished out 181 assists so far this season. She is now in eighth place on the Regis career assists list with 856 and, dating back to last season, has reached double figures in assists in 23 consecutive matches.

Regis College (3-4) travels to Worcester State University to face the Lancers Tuesday, Sept. 12, starting at 7 p.m. The Pride then host Salve Regina and Husson in a non-conference tri-match Saturday, Sept. 16, beginning at 10 a.m.
