WESTON, Mass. – Thanks to a season-high team hitting percentage of .435 and 17 service aces, Regis College eased past Anna Maria College, 3-0 (25-6, 25-5, 25-12), Wednesday night in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference women's volleyball match at Higgins Court.

Katryna Veasey (Quincy, Mass.) collected 16 kills while making just two attack errors for a .609 hitting percentage, while Lauren Butt (Topsfield, Mass.) was 6-for-7 in attack attempts for an .857 hitting percentage. Caroline Fuentes (Downey, Calif.) led the Pride with eight service aces and five digs, Tori Ondris (Mineola, N.Y.) also had five digs to go along with 21 assists, and Allison Galinat (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) came off the bench and earned six service aces in the final two sets.

The Pride scored 10 of the first 11 points of the match and then scored nine unanswered points, including three aces by Fuentes, to open a 19-2 advantage on their way to winning the first set. In the second set, Regis rattled off 13 straight points to open a double-digit lead, and then closed out the set with six unanswered points, including two service aces by Galinat.

Anna Maria (3-21, 0-9 GNAC) scored the first point of the third set on a kill by Jenna Grande, one of seven kills for the AMCATs in the third set. However, once again the Pride put together a significant scoring run, this time 15-2, to take control of the set. Regis would close out the set and the match with a 7-1 scoring run, capped by Fuentes's eighth ace of the match.

The AMCATs did collect 25 defensive digs as a team, led by Victoria Falco with eight digs and Grande with seven digs. However, the visitors could not contain the Pride offense, as Regis committed only six attack errors while earning 36 kills as a team, with nine different players credited with at least one kill during the contest.

Regis (10-12, 3-5 GNAC) heads to Northfield, Vt., for a GNAC tri-match Saturday, Oct. 20, first facing the host Norwich Cadets at 11 a.m., followed by a neutral-site contest against Suffolk at 1 p.m. The Pride will play two non-conference home matches next week, hosting Fisher Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 6 p.m. and Gordon on Senior Night next Thursday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m.
