Katryna Veasey Named To GNAC All-Conference Team

WINTHROP, Mass. - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference handed out its women’s volleyball postseason awards on Tuesday with Regis (Mass.) outside hitter Katryna Veasey (Quincy, Mass.) garnering third team honors.

Veasey, the Pride’s lone all-conference representative, ranked first on her team and in the GNAC’s top five in total kills (134) and kills per set (3.72). She was also key for the Pride on the defensive side of the net, leading the team during GNAC play in total digs (89) and digs per set (2.47).

The former NECC Rookie of the Year helped lead Regis to a fifth seed in the GNAC’s postseason tournament, three spots higher than its predicted order of finish. Veasey delivered four double doubles during conference play including a late-season tear of double figures in kills and digs in three straight matches. The streak also included a career-high of 20 kills at Lasell (10/21).

Caroline Fuentes (Downey, Calif.) was named to the league's all-sportsmanship team.

Veasey and the Pride’s season came to a close with a loss to Lasell in the quarterfinals of the GNAC Tournament.
