WESTON, Mass. - The Regis (Mass.) women's volleyball team, which Sunday punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament by nabbing its third straight New England Collegiate Conference championship, has drawn the host Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks in the first round of the Big Dance.

"I think it's really exciting," said Regis interim coach Nikki Naccarato. "It will be a good chance to play some out of region games and teams we've never seen before."

The Pride's first round match will be one of four played in the Walker Gymnasium on the campus of Stevens in Hoboken, N.J., and is set for Friday, Nov. 11.

The Ducks currently hold a record of 31-5 on the season and are coming off a loss in the Empire 8 Conference Championship match. The top-seeded Ducks were a perfect 8-0 in conference play in the regular season, before falling to Ithaca College in four sets in the title match. In the most recent NCAA regional rankings, updated on Nov. 2, Stevens was ranked No. 1 in the New York region.

"I can't wait to go to New Jersey and play Stevens," said junior co-captain Nicole Connolly. "I've never been to New Jersey so it's pretty awesome to travel.

The meeting on Friday will be the first ever meeting between Regis and Stevens. The first serve is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
