Women's Volleyball Sweeps Lynx, Ready For NECC Tourney

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Regis (Mass.) women's volleyball team topped the Lesley Lynx 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-11) in the regular season finale for both squads. Lesley falls to 9-14 overall and 5-3 in NECC matchups while Regis jumps to 13-15 on the season and 7-1 in the conference.

Regis, already locked into the No. 3 seed in next week's NECC Tournament, will host sixth-seeded Becker to open the tourney.

Regis freshman Stephanie Carter (Jupiter, Fla.) paced the Pride with a double-double with 11 kills and ten digs. Fellow freshman Kayal Nystedt (Onamia, Minn.) and sophomore MacKenzie Emco (Sutton, Mass.) each slammed down eight kills while swinging .500 and .312, respectively, on the evening. Junior Shay Faber (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) set up the Pride offense with a match-high 32 assists. The Regis defensive front line sent back 14 attack attempts from the Lynx while junior Nicole Connolly (San Mateo, Calif.) dug up a team-best 12 balls.

Lesley junior Kaylee Deluga (Dennis, Mass.) finished with seven kills to lead the Lynx offense while classmate Sarah Hollis (Hudson, Mass.) followed with four kills. Bednar dished out a team-high eleven assists and anchored the defense with seven digs. Junior Anni Abbruzzese (Croton on Hudson, N.Y.) and Reynolds each added six digs on the defensive end for the hosts.

Regis hit .311 as a team on the night while holding a 42-14 advantage in total kills.
