Shay Faber (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) stabilized the attack, delivering 41 assists for the Pride (2-11) who could have earned a sweep if not for a tough set one loss. Regis made a late run of its own with five straight points to take a 23-21 lead. The Pride would stave off three set points and have two of its own before falling in the opening set.

The rest of the match however would belong to the Pride. Set two saw Regis open up a 10-5 lead to force a UMD timeout. The Pride then won seven of the next eight points and eventually held a 21-11 lead. Veasey closed the set with one of her three aces.

Set three saw the Pride trail 13-12 midway through, but catch fire to win going away. Regis won six straight points sandwiched around a UMD timeout to go up 17-13. Kayla Nystedt (Onamia, Minn.) later had two kills in a four-point burst, then drilled the set-clinching kill to put Regis up in the match

Regis took care of business in the final set to close out the match. Veasey drilled three kills as part of a 9-1 run that put the Pride up 12-3 and Connolly served the final three points for the win.

Regis next hosts MCLA this Thursday, Sept. 29 at 6:00 p.m. with UMass Dartmouth next taking part in a tri-match on Saturday, playing Westfield State and Rivier.
