WESTON, Mass. – Regis College freshman Rachel Bartels (Edinburg, Texas) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week in women's volleyball, it was announced on Monday afternoon.

Bartels helped lead the Crimson and Gold to a 2-0 mark against NECC opponents. She recorded 16 kills, nine blocks and two digs in both contests. Against Elms on October 14th, Bartels recorded seven blocks which was the most she has blocked in her early collegiate career. Versus Mitchell on October 17th she had a team-high 11 kills and also added two digs and two blocks. In the two matches she amassed a hitting percentage of .469. This is the second time this season Bartels has earned NECC rookie honors.

The Pride return to the court on Tuesday night for a NECC home match against conference rival Becker at 7:00 p.m.
