WESTON, Mass. – Regis College freshman Rachel Bartels (Edinburg, Texas) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week in women's volleyball , it was announced on Monday afternoon.

Bartels helped lead the Pride to a 3-0 mark in games this week. Bartels had nine kills in a 3-2 win over Wentworth, and followed that up with seven kills and a pair of blocks in a 3-1 win over Worcester State. She wrapped up the week with six kills and three blocks in a 3-0 sweep of Mount Holyoke. For the week, the rookie hit .228 and had five total blocks.

The Pride return to the court on Tuesday night for a NECC home match against conference rival Bay Path at 7:00 p.m.
