REGIS DROPS PAIR IN TRI-MATCH

NASHUA, N.H. – The Regis College women's volleyball team dropped both matches this afternoon as they traveled to Rivier University for a tri-match. The Pride were defeated 3-0 (15-25, 17-25, 18-25) by Wellesley College and 3-1 (13-25, 13-25, 25-19 and 21-25) by the host Raiders. Both losses dropped the Pride to 7-6 overall.

Wellesley College 3, Regis College 0 (15-25, 17-25, 18-25)

Wellesley was able to rebound from the first game loss as they swept Regis College by scores of 25-15, 25-17 and 25-18. The split sees the Wellesley overall record go to 4-6 on the season.

Yasmine Reece (New Rochelle, N.Y.) was the star for the Blue as she recorded a .615 hitting percentage with a team high 9 kills. Kaite Yan (Cohoes, N.Y.) had a solid game two with five kills and 10 digs. Samantha Hoang (Elk Grovem Calif.) also collected 10 digs – team high – and both Maddie Koh (Seattle, Wash.) and Michelle Li (Scarsdale, N.Y.) shared the assist lead with 12.

Regis saw Sydney Trusty (Durham, Conn.) record the team high of 8 kills while Rachel Bartels (Edinburg, Texas) was right behind her with 7 kills. Crystina Lathrop (Houston, Texas) registered 18 assists and Emily DeBarros (Brockton, Mass.) paced the defensive attack with 7 digs.

Rivier University 3, Regis College 1 (13-25, 13-25, 25-19, 21-25)

The Raiders defeated the Pride in the final match of the day's tri-match at the Muldoon Gymnasium. Rivier won the four set match by scores of 25-13, 25-13, 19-25 and 25-21.

Lauren Silverman (Chelmsford, Mass.) totaled 12 kills and a .529 hitting percentage as she appeared in three sets. Freshman Taylor White (Dunstable, Mass.) tabulated a .750 hitting percentage with three kills and a dig while classmate Hayley Macken (Clifton Park, N.Y.) had 17 assists and 7 digs. Dana Mott (Medway, Mass.) finished with 9 kills and Emily O'Reilly (San Francisco, Calif.) had 20 assists. Madison Soucy (Tolland, Conn.) contributed a team-high 11 digs and Molly McCormack (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) had seven kills and nine digs.

Regis' Graciella Molinari (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) led the Pride with 9 kills and 9 digs in the loss with Haley Schulte (Fullerton, Calif.) providing 16 assists. Nicole Connolly (San Mateo, Calif.) had a solid game with six kills and seven digs.

The Crimson and Gold return home to Weston on Tuesday, September 22nd when the Pride welcome Bridgewater State to campus at 7:00 p.m.
