PRIDE DROP PAIR IN FIRST DAY OF VICTORY PROMOTIONS INVITE

POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Regis College women's volleyball team traveled to the campus of State University of New York –Potsdam on Friday to take part in the Victory Promotions Invitational. The Crimson and Gold had two matches scheduled for the day and dropped a 3-0 (12-25, 10-25, 5-25) decision to SUNY Canton in the first game and followed with a 3-1 (23-25, 26-24, 23-25, 18-25) loss versus the host Bears. The Pride fell to 3-4 on the young season with both losses.

SUNY Canton 3 Regis (Mass.) 0 (12-25, 10-25, 5-25)

Regis dropped the first match of the invite in three sets against SUNY Canton. The Kangaroo's improved to 7-0 with the win while the Pride evened their record at 3-3.

Sydney Trusty (Durham, Conn.) led the offensive attack for the Pride with a team high three kills, five digs and one service ace. Graciella Molinari (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) recorded a kill and a block. Shay Faber (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) was a defensive stalwart for the Pride by having a team-high eight digs.

SUNY Potsdam 3 Regis (Mass.) 1 (23-25, 26-24, 23-25, 18-25)

During the second matchup of the evening, the Crimson and Gold squared off against the host Bears. The loss dropped the Pride below .500 for the first time this season

Molinari paced the Pride with 10 kills, five digs and two service aces. Nicole Connolly (San Mateo, Calif. also had a huge game with nine kills, a team-high 17 digs, three blocks and three assists. Haley Schulte (Fullerton, Calif.) chipped in with five kills, 15 digs and one assist. Crystina Lathrop (Houston, Texas) passed the ball around efficiently as she racked up 30 assists.

The Pride return to action on day two of the invitational tomorrow against Johnson State at 11:00 a.m. and the team wraps up their trip at 1:00 p.m. against the University of Maine – Fort Kent
