VOLLEYBALL PLAYS BOWDOIN IN NCAA TOURNAMENT FRIDAY

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College women's volleyball team will take on Bowdoin College on Friday afternoon in an NCAA First Round matchup held on the campus of Williams College.

The Pride (24-8) earned the NECC's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament by winning their conference tournament this past weekend. It was the Pride's first NECC Championship and this weekend marks the program's first NCAA Tournament bid.

2014 NECC Coach of the Year Scott Wright leads a young team into the tournament that has won 14 of their last 15 matches headed into Tournament play. Sophomore Kristina del Rey (Miami, Fla.) grabbed an All-NECC First Team nod this past Monday, and was joined on the All-Conference Team by the freshman trio of Gracie Molinari (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.), Nicole Connolly (San Mateo, Calif.), and Tina Lathrop (Houston, Texas).

Bowdoin enters the NCAA Tournament having grabbed an at-large bid after falling in the NESCAC Semifinals to Tufts University. The Polar Bears are 10-5 in their last 15 matches and have been led by Christy Jewett (Sunnyvale, Calif.), who has posted a team-best 399 kills this season.

Regis and Bowdoin have only met one time before, last season in the MIT Invitational. The Polar Bears swept the Pride, 3-0.
