REGIS CRUISES TO 3-0 SWEEP OF ELMS

CHICOPEE, Mass.  - The Regis College women's volleyball team improved to a perfect 3-0 in the New England Collegiate Conference with a 3-0 sweep of Elms College (4-16, 1-3 NECC) on Wednesday night. The Pride move to 16-8 overall with the win.

After a competitive first set, the Pride used a 10-0 run in the second set, and a 16-0 start in the third set en route to the three-set win.

Regis College was powered by a game-high 10 kills from freshman outside hitter Gracie Molinari (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.). Freshman setter Haley Schulte registered a double-double with a game-high 23 assists and 10 digs. Senior libero Marilia Ramos (Chimbote, Peru) snared a game-high 14 digs, while freshman right side Shay Faber (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) chipped in nine kills and seven digs.

The Blazers were paced by a team-high five kills from junior outside hitter Alex Mack (Wilbraham, Mass.), along with six digs. Senior outside hitter Christine Searles (Tolland, Mass.) tallied 13 digs and four kills, while freshman middle hitter Kate Moriarty (Agawam, Mass.) added three kills. Freshmen Ashlee Connors (Springfield, Mass.) and Lindsey McNiff (Kingston, R.I.) each recorded two kills, and junior setter Shannon Bolton (Shelton, Conn.) dished out 16 assists in the loss.

The Crimson and Gold are back in action on Saturday afternoon when they host Daniel Webster College in a 1:00 p.m. NECC match.
