REGIS DROPS PAIR AT RIVIER

NASHUA, N.H. - The Regis College women's volleyball team dropped a pair of 3-1 decisions to Emerson College and Rivier Universtiy on Saturday afternoon in Nashua, N.H. The Pride fall to 8-5 with the losses.

The Pride took the opening set against Emerson, 25-12, but the Lions rebounded to win the final three sets, 25-18, 25-20, and 25-23. 

Nicole Connolly (San Mateo, Calif.) led the Pride with nine kills, nine digs, and three blocks on the day, while Kristina del Rey (Miami, Fla.) and Shay Faber (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) added seven kills and six digs each, respectively. Sydney Trusty (Durham, Conn.) and Courtney Mosher (Taunton, Mass.) recorded four kills apiece.

Tina Lathrop (Houston, Texas) guided the Pride offense with 29 assists and added 11 digs. Faber added 13 digs, while Marilia Ramos (Chimbote, Peru) recorded a team-high 21 digs.

In the match against the host Raiders, Regis rebounded from a 25-19 setback in the opening set to take the second game, 25-23. Rivier won the final two sets by set scores of 25-15 and 25-18.

Trusty and Connolly led the Pride offense with 10 kills apiece, while del Rey added seven more kills to her total for the day. Lathrop dished out 33 assists to go with five digs. Ramos, Trusty, and Faber also added two service aces apiece.

Ramos led the Pride defense with 16 digs, while Sara Casullo (Little Falls, N.Y.) and Nicole Connolly added eight digs apiece.

Regis returns to action on Tuesday night when they travel to Gordon College for a 7:00 p.m. matchup with the Fighting Scots.
