WESTON, Mass. – Regis College freshman Kristina del Rey (Miami, Fla.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference's Rookie of the Week, it was announced on Monday morning. This marks the second time this year that del Rey has earned this award.

The freshman helped lead the Pride (5-12) to a 1-3 mark in last week's games. She posted 18 kills, 10 digs, and six total blocks over the four game stretch, and had nine service aces in a 3-0 win over Mass. Maritime. Del Rey had nine kills and two blocks in a 3-2 setback to Southern Maine, and added two kills apiece in matches against Wentworth and Lasell.

This season, del Rey is tied for the team-lead in sets played, and ranks third in kills (88), second in service aces (24), and leads the Pride with 32 total blocks on the year.

Kristina del Rey and the Regis College volleyball team return to action on Thursday when the Pride host Gordon College in a 7:00 p.m. non-league game.
