WESTON, Mass. – Freshman outside hitter Kristina del Rey (Miami, Fla.) of the Regis College women's volleyball team has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league's offices on Monday. Del Rey helped Regis begin the season with a 1-3 mark after competing at the Pride Invite.

The rookie posted three kills, two aces, seven digs, and three blocks in her first career start, as the Pride captured a 3-1 win over Mount Ida. She tallied seven kills and three blocks against MIT, while she also recorded seven kills and eight digs against WPI. In the Pride's final match of the tournament, del Rey had five kills, three digs, and one block against Rivier.

Del Rey and Regis will be seeking their second win of the season tonight, Sept. 3 as they host Eastern Nazarene at 7:00 p.m.
