Regis 3, Becker 0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-15)

Megan Pratt (Rockland, Mass.) posted 13 kills and the Pride recorded 18 service aces as Regis opened up the 2012 Pride Invitational with a 3-0 win over Becker College. The Pride used set scores of 25-17, 25-16, and 25-15 to down the Hawks. Samantha Bliss (Framingham, Mass.) and Olivia Foley (Andover, Mass.) added five kills apiece in the win. Brooklyn Beliveau (Weare, N.H.)) dished out a match-high 23 assists. Sara Gold (North Hollywood, Calif.) added a match-high 11 digs, while Marilia Ramos (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) chipped in with nine digs of her own.

Becker was led by two kills apiece from Alexandra Berthaut (Manchester, Conn.) and Theresa Boulier (Eddington, Maine). Joana Slomiak (Brockton, Mass.) registered four assists and a pair of service aces, while Kayla Prior (Swansea, Mass.) led the Hawks defense with 10 digs.

 

Worcester State 3, Husson 0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-13)

Worcester State began the Pride Invitational with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-15,25-13) win over Husson University. The Lancers were led by eight kills from Ali Remigio (Millbury, Mass.) and six kills apiece from Megan Brown (Dartmouth, Mass.) and Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, Mass.). Amanda Lewis (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) posted a game high 28 assists to go with three service aces and five digs. Vicki O'Brien (Canton, Mass.) led the Lancers with seven digs, while Brown and Emily Cox (North Andover, Mass.) added five digs each.

Husson was paced by a match-high 14 kills from Hannah Olstad (Farmington, N.H., who hit .407 during the three sets. Michelle Smith (New Boston, N.H.) posted six kills and a match-high eight digs for the Eagles. Aleta Johnson (Milton, N.H.) handed out 19 assists, while Kelsey Burill (Somersworth, N.H.) and Kristen Lawrence (Manchester, N.H.) added five digs apiece.

 

WPI 3, Becker 0 (25-6, 25-7, 25-17)

WPI posted set scores of 25-6, 25-7 and 25-17 en route to a 3-0 win over Becker College in the second match of the Pride Invitational. Kerrin Beovich (Seaford, N.Y.) had eight kills and a pair of service aces, while Elyssa Dorenfeld (Reading, Mass.) added six kills and four digs for the Engineers. Alanah Durr (Bourne, Mass.) also registered five kills and Jess Desmond (Chelmsford, Mass.) had five service aces. 12 of the 14 players that entered the game for WPI registered at least one kill. Alex Rangel (Weston, Fla.) dished out a match-high 16 assists to go with a match high six digs.

Becker was led by three kills apiece from Danielle Robbie (Bellingham, Mass.) and Ashley Peterson (Johnston, R.I.). Joanna Slomiak (Brockton, Mass.) handed out a team-high two assists to go along with four digs and a pair of block assists. Robbie and Kayla Prior (Swansea, Mass.) added three digs apiece.

 

MIT 3, Husson 0 (25-16, 25-10, 25-13)

MIT defeated Husson in its first match of the Pride Invitational, 3-0, as 13 of the 16 MIT players that saw the floor registered at least one kill in the 25-16, 25-10, 25-13 win. Meryl Gibbs (Bellaire, Texas) led all players with six kills, while Trinity Leonard (Mill Valley, Calif.) and Kristine Bunker (Falmouth, Mass.) added five kills and four kills each, respectively. Helping set up the offense, Nicole Gagnier (Atlanta, Ga.) and Alyssa Rothman (Plainview, N.Y.) combined to hand out 19 assists. Katie Spielbauer (Lakeview, Mich.) led the Engineers with six digs, while Leonard added five of her own in the win.

Hannah Olstad (Farmington, N.H.) led the Eagles' attack with four kills and five digs, while Kelsey Burrill (Somersworth, N.H.) added three kills, two service aces and a match-high eight digs in the setback. Aleta Johnson (Milton, N.H.) handed out 11 assists for the Eagles.

 

WPI 3, Regis 0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-16)

WPI recorded a 3-0 win over Regis by winning matches 25-14, 25-15, and 25-16. The Engineers were led by junior Holly Ganser (Seward, Alaska), who posted seven kills in the victory.  The senior duo of Jocelyn Close (Ellington, Conn.) and Kerrin Beovich (Seaford, N.Y.) added six kills apiece, while senior Alyssa Fidanza (Ellington, Conn.) added four serve assists and 13 digs. Senior Alex Rangel (Weston, Fla.) recorded a match-high 16 assists, and freshman Jess Desmond pitched in with 9 digs.

The Pride were led by sophomore Brooklyn Beliveau's (Weare, N.H.) 14 assists.  Junior Julie Endara (Boca Raton, Fla.) and sophomore Samantha Bliss (Framingham, Mass.) added seven kills and five kills, respectively. Junior Sara Gold (North Hollywood, Calif.) had a match-high 20 digs for Regis, and sophomore Jackie Silver (West Hills, Calif.) had 1.5 blocks in the match.

 

MIT 3, Worcester State 1 (18-25, 25-15, 25-23, 25-15)

In the only match of the evening that went beyond three sets, MIT defeated Worcester State, 3-1 (18-25, 25-15, 25-23, 25-15), in the final match of the evening. Kristine Bunker (Falmouth, Mass.) posted a match-high 12 kills, while Trinity Leonard (Mill Valley, Calif.) chipped in with 11 of her own in the win. Jenny Astrachan (Austin, Texas) just missed double-digit kills, adding nine kills. Nicole Gagnier (Atlanta, Ga.) dished out a match-high 36 assist and added five kills and four digs. Katie Spielbauer (Lakeview, Mich.) paced the Engineers defense with 14 digs, while five MIT players combined for seven total blocks.

Becky Lebel (Millbury, Mass.) led the Lancers with 11 kills, and committed only one attacking error in the match. Jennifer Cabral (Swansea, Mass.) added seven kills of her own, while Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, Mass.) added six of her own to go with seven digs. Amanda Lewis (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and Gina Battista (West Springfield, Mass.) combined for 29 assists, while Emily Cox (North Andover, Mass.) guided the defense with a team-best eight digs.

 

MIT 3, Regis 0 (25-13, 25-13, 25-15)

MIT advanced to the Championship game of the Regis Pride Invitational with a 3-0 win over host Regis College in the first match of the day. The Pride were led by Julie Endara's (Boca Raton, Fla.) seven kills and eight digs. Sara Gold (North Hollywood, Calif.) also recorded eight digs and had a pair of kills. Brooklyn Beliveau (Weare, N.H.) set up the offense with nine assists, while Marilia Ramos (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) had a service ace and eight digs. Vanessa Noesi (Methuen, Mass.) added a kill and a pair of solo blocks.

The Engineers were paced by Trinity Leonard (Mill Valley, Calif.), who had a match-high eight kills and added six digs in the win. Jenny Astrachan (Austin, Texas) registered seven kills and Kristine Bunker (Falmouth, Mass.) added six of her own. Nicole Gagnier (Atlanta, Ga.) and Alyssa Rothman (Plainview, N.Y.) combined for 30 assists in the win, while Katie Spielbauer (Lakeview, Mich.) led the defense with 11 digs. Sharon Hao (San Jose, Calif.) added five of the Engineers' 13 service aces.

 

WPI 3, Worcester State 1 (18-25, 25-20, 25-10, 25-17)

WPI picked up a 3-0 win over Worcester State to advance to the championship game against MIT. The Engineers used set scores of 18-25, 25-20, 25-10, and 25-17 in the win. Kerrin Beovich (Seaford, N.Y.) posted a match-high 11 kills and added four digs, while Jenny Wallace (Holden, Mass.) added nine kills, five service aces, and eight digs. Sarah Cook (New Paltz, N.Y.) and Belinda Nwagbara (Santa Rosa, Calif.) also registered six kills apiece. Elyssa Dorenfeld (Reading, Mass.) handed out a match-high 22 assists and added 10 digs for a double-double, while Alex Rangel (Weston, Fla.) chipped in with 11 assists of her own. Lauren D'Angelo (Wallingford, Conn.) paced the defense with 18 digs.

Worcester State was led by nine kills from Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, Mass.), while Emily Cox (North Andover, Mass.) added eight of her own in the setback. Becky Lebel (Millbury, Mass.) also posted seven kills. Amanda Lewis (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) handed out 21 assists and added five digs, while Megan Brown (Dartmouth, Mass.) and Vicki O'Brien (Canton, Mass.) each posted 11 digs in defeat.

 

Worcester State 3, Regis 0 (25-20, 25-11, 25-18)

Host Regis College suffered a 3-0 setback to Worcester State in the final match of the Pride Invitational for the Crimson and Gold. Julie Endara (Boca Raton, Fla.) posted a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs in the setback. Jackie Silver (West Hills, Calif.) added six kills, while Samantha Bliss (Framingham, Mass.) had four of her own. Brooklyn Beliveau (Weare, N.H.) handed out 20 assists and added three digs. Sarah Gold (North Hollywood, Calif.) led the Pride defense with a match-high 18 digs.

The Lancers responded to an earlier 3-1 setback to WPI by taking down the Pride, 25-20, 25-11, 25-18. Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, Mass.) led Worcester State with seven kills, while Emily Cox (North Andover, Mass.), Becky Lebel (Millbury, Mass.) and Nicole Hanson (Dighton, Mass.) each posted five kills apiece. Amanda Lewis (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and Gina Battista (West Springfield, Mass.) combined for 29 assists, while Vicki O'Brien (Canton, Mass.) notched 10 digs on the day. Cox, Kaylee Leduc (Swansea, Mass.) and Jennifer Cabral (Swansea, Mass.) each added eight digs for the Lancers.

 

Husson 3, Becker 1 (21-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-23)

Husson University picked up its first win of 2012 with a 3-1 (21-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-23) win over Becker College. The Eagles were led by 14 kills from Hannah Olstad (Farmington, N.H.) and 11 kills from Michelle Smith (New Boston, N.H.). Kelsey Burill (Somersworth, N.H.) chipped in with five kills and a team-high nine digs. Aleta Johnson (Milton, N.H.) handed out 28 assists and added eight digs, while Michelle Smith and Kristen Lawrence (Manchester, N.H.) added six and five digs each, respectively.

Theresa Boulier (Eddington, Maine) had eight digs and a solo block to lead the Hawks. Danielle Robbie (Bellingham, Mass.) added six kills and nine digs, while Jacqueline Chila (Monre, Conn.) added five kills, seven service aces and nine digs as well. Joanna Slomiak (Brockton, Mass.) dished out 11 assists and added a match-high eight service aces to go with five digs. Lauren LaVallee (Millbury, Mass.) and Kayla Prior (Swansea, Mass.) combined for 15 digs in the setback.

 

MIT 3, WPI 1 (25-14, 22-25, 25-18, 25-10)

MIT needed four sets to dispose of WPI as the Engineers took home the Pride Invitational Championship with a 3-1 win by set scores of 25-14, 22-25, 25-18, 25-10. Kristine Bunker (Falmouth, Mass.) notched a game-high 12 kills and added four block assists to lead MIT. Trinity Leonard (Mill Valley, Calif.) added nine kills of her own, while Tatiana Berger (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) and Jenny Astrachan (Austin, Texas) added eight kills apiece. Nicole Gagnier (Atlanta, Ga.) handed out a game-high 38 assists, while Katie Spielbauer (Lakeview, Mich.) had 21 digs. Berger also added three service aces to go with 10 digs for the Engineers.

WPI's Kerrin Beovich (Seaford, N.Y.) and Jenny Wallace (Holden, Mass.) led the Engineer attack with six kills apiece. Belina Nwagbara (Santa Rosa, Calif.) added five kills of her own to go with a pair of block assists. Elyssa Dorenfeld (Reading, Mass.) handed out a team-high 20 assists in the setback. Bailey Sarber (Westerly, R.I.) led the Engineers with 11 digs, while Lauren D'Angelo (Wallingford, Conn.) added nine digs of her own.
