WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL RELEASES 2010 SCHEDULE

Weston, Mass.—The 2010 Regis College women’s volleyball schedule was released Wednesday afternoon by the athletics department. The annual Pride Invitational will officially start the season on Sept. 4-5.

At the Invitational Regis will host the early match versus Worcester Polytechnic Institute at 8 a.m., followed by matches against nearby Framingham State and Rhode Island College at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. respectively. The Pride will host Suffolk, Worcester State, and Assumption on the second day of the Invitational.

The Pride host Pine Manor (Sept. 10), Lesley University and Norwich on September 11. Regis could earn some quality wins during the first two weeks of the season.

Regis will travel to Becker (Sept. 17), and compete in a conference match versus the University of New England and Endicott (Sept. 18).

A win over Endicott would be amazing for the Pride. The two teams met in The Commonwealth Coast Conference quarterfinal match last year, when the Gulls defeated Regis 3-0.

TCCC teams that Regis will face on the road are Eastern Nazarene College and Anna Maria College (Oct. 2), Roger Williams University (Oct. 5), and Gordon (Oct. 13).

The Pride will host conference opponents starting with Salve Regina on October 19, followed by Western New England (Oct. 27), then Wentworth and Colby-Sawyer (Oct. 30) to conclude the regular season.

Other non-conference matches for Regis will be against Mt. Ida (Sept. 21) and St. Joseph’s (ME) on Oct. 1. The match versus St. Joseph’s will be during Regis’ homecoming week.

The Pride will also play in two tournaments during the season. Regis will travel to, and play Fairleigh Dickinson (Sept. 25), as well as Union and Arcadia. Its second tournament will be October 16 when Regis competes in the Randolph Invitational against Southern Virginia, Methodist, and Randolph.

Women’s volleyball has appeared in the TCCC quarterfinals the last three years. Head coach Chris Ridolfi is in his first year at Regis College, joining the program in June.
