PRIDE TO PLAY IN TCCC POSTSEASON

Weston, Mass.-Having displayed one of its most impressive seasons in years past, Regis College women's volleyball clinches the No. 8 seed in The Commonwealth Coast Conference quarterfinals.

Regis College will play #1 seed Endicott College (21-14, 10-0 TCCC) on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 7 pm. When asked what it will take to defeat the Seagulls, head coach Kelly Murphy said, "In order to win on Tuesday, Regis will have to serve aggressively, and wear down their offensive power houses."

Murphy also mentioned that Regis' three most dominant players, Ashley Paolini (Epping, NH), and middle blockers Megan McCarty (Billerica, Mass.) and Melissa Frederique (Manchester, NH) would need to be as aggressive in the postseason as they have been during the season.

Along with the teams entrance into the postseason, it is only fitting that women's volleyball would find itself ranked in the NCAA Top 50 in aces per set.

The 24th ranked Pride spends much of its practices working on, and perfecting its serves. Endicott College is ranked 32 in the NCAA. Regis has 289 service aces during its season. Paolini is tied with junior Frederique, both having 48 aces on the year. With an overall record of 15-15 this season, women's volleyball has two remaining matches in the regular season.

Paolini was also announced to the Women's Volleyball All-TCCC Honorable Mention team for her play in 2008.
