PRIDE FALL TO COLBY-SAWYER IN THREE GAMES

Weston, Mass.-In its last game of the season, and with postseason play on the line, Regis College battled three sets to lose 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-14) to The Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Colby-Sawyer College (21-11, 8-2 TCCC) Saturday.

Regis College (16-16, 3-7 TCCC) gave a strong first set showing against the Chargers with senior Tiffany Blessing (Milford, Mass.) serving four straight points. The Chargers Michelle Doody (Franklin, Mass.) refused to let her team fall behind early. Colby-Sawyer would battle within two points to 17-15, and hold off the Pride to win set one 25-21.

In a closer set two, Regis College stayed within contention being four points down at 20-16. Colby-Sawyer maintained an offensive attack, and capitalized on the Pride's ball handling mistakes. Junior libero Jackie Burnett (Portsmouth, Mass.) maintained a determined demeanor to assist her team to a 25-18 set two win.

Having battled two strong sets, Regis College could not keep with the consistent play of the Chargers. Junior Meg White (Monroe, Conn.) and senior Kristen Romanko (Mansfield, Mass.) pushed their team to an early 20-9 lead over the Pride in set three.

The Chargers would knockout Regis College 25-15 in set three to take the match 3-0. Postseason seeding expected to be announced Nov. 2 by The Commonwealth Coast Conference office.
