PRIDE SET TO FACE ENDICOTT IN TCCC PLAYOFFS

Weston, Mass.-For the team's second consecutive year, women's volleyball will make an appearance in The Commonwealth Coast Conference playoffs Tuesday.

As it did in 2008, Regis College (8-25, 2-8 TCCC) will face Endicott College Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 7 PM. The game will be held in Beverly, Mass.

Regis earned its eighth seed playoff spot by defeating Wentworth Institute of Technology Saturday in TCCC play.

The conference decides playoff placement during a conference record tiebreak, which Wentworth and Regis had, by best overall record.

As a team, Regis has placed in the top 10 of every major statistical category within TCCC play.

Sophomore Caitlin Luquet (Walnut Creek, Calif.) leads the team in assists with 229, an average per set of 5.20 in 44 sets. Her consistent play places her in eighth place within TCCC standings.

Senior Alanna DelRose (Watertown, Mass.) is second in conference service aces. DelRose has 75 aces in 104 sets, an average per set of .72. She is one of three seniors that will leave large shoes to fill in the Regis offense.

Meghan McCarty (Billerica, Mass.) leads in blocks per set with 1.02, 33 block solos and 18 block assists respectively. In 106 sets senior Melissa Frederique (Manchester, N.H.) holds a commanding lead with 43 block solos, and 20 block assists.

Sophomores Lauren Ross (Dracut, Mass.) and Domingas Gomes (Brockton, Mass.) lead Regis in kills with 180 and 173 respectively. Each average 1.63 kills per set, in 106 sets this season.

Without question Regis will face a talented and aggressive Endicott team, but youth has its advantages for the Pride, which may play to its benefit.

The "Pride Ride" will be in full glory for the Nov. 3 match. Fans that are interested in riding must sign up in the athletics facility no later than 5 PM Monday, Nov. 2.
