PRIDE TO HOST HAWKS AND AMCATS IN TCCC PLAY

Weston, Mass.-The Regis College women's volleyball team will host two tough conference matches, Roger Williams and Anna Maria Saturday October 3, 2009 at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.

The Hawks of Roger Williams have an arsenal of weapons to use against any defense.  Senior captain Kristina Dolan (Glenmont, NY) in 57 games leads the Hawks with 153 kills out of 327 total attacks.  Alongside Dolan to lead the Hawk attack is junior captain Rebekah Dion (Old Saybrook, Conn.) who is right under Dolan with 117 kills in 62 games.  Both Dion and Dolan respectively lead the team with a combined 92 blocks on the season.

Freshman setter Emily Lebowitz (Coventry, Conn.) is in command of setting her teammates up, as she leads the team with 477 assists.  The Hawks have an 8-8 overall record, a 2-1 conference record and will be looking to take control of the court this weekend.  Roger Williams are coming to Regis off a home win against Salve Regina 3-0.

The Amcats of Anna Maria are coming into the den of the Pride after suffering a tough loss to conference opponent Colby-Sawyer, 3-0.  The Amcats are on a seven game losing streak, and will hope to change the course of direction this weekend.

Freshman Leah Murphy (Wareham, Mass.) leads Anna Maria with 100 kills in 43 games, and will look to lead the attack for the Amcats.  Sophomore setter Alicia Bonneau (Worcester, Mass.) leads the team with 162 assists on the season.  Murphy also leads the team with 35 blocks on the season.  The Amcats enter this weekend with a 5-8 overall record, 0-3 conference record and will look for their first conference win.

Although these two conference matches will be tough, the Pride only have one thing on their mind and that is victory.  After suffering a loss to Eastern Nazarene 3-1, the Pride are looking to get back into the winner's circle on Saturday.

Sophomore Lauren Ross (Dracut, Mass.) leads the Pride with 124 kills on the season, along with Domingas Gomes (Brockton, Mass.) is right underneath Ross with 108 kills.  Senior Alanna Delrose (Watertown, Mass.) leads the team with 56 serving aces.
