LIONS PROWL PAST PRIDE 3-1

Weston, Mass.-The Regis College women's volleyball team was defeated by conference opponent Eastern Nazarene, 3-1.

Regis would not waste any time getting points on the board as they would take the first game 25-15.  Senior Alanna Delrose (Watertown, Mass.) would start off with an ace, which would set the pace and momentum for the Pride.  Delrose would also end the night recording 10 serving aces for the game.  Sophomore Lauren Ross (Dracut, Mass.) would put down five kills in the first match, in which the Lions had no answer for the Pride.  Ross would go on to record a career-high 11 kills on the night.

The Lions of Eastern Nazarene used that first match as a boost of motivation for their three in a row streak against the Pride.  Juniors Bethany Greenfield (Morris Plains, NJ) and Amber Burns (Fall River, Mass.) both lead the way in the Lions attack.  Both would hammer down attacks one after another, as the Pride could not return them back over the net.  Junior Lindsey Daniels (Smithsburg, MD) would set the Lions up for most of their attacks and would be credited for a majority of the matches assists.

The Pride fall to a 5-14, 0-3 TCCC record, whereas the Lions move up to a 3-13, 1-2 TCCC record.  Regis will host a pair of tough conference matches on Saturday October 3, 2009 against Roger Williams at 11:00 am and Anna Maria at 3:00 pm.
