PRIDE OUTLAST EASTERN NAZARENE TO WIN 3-1 IN TCCC PLAY

Weston, Mass.-Competing in the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth Volleyball Invitational, Regis College (3-7, 1-0 TCCC) defeated The Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Eastern Nazarene College 3-1 (25-16, 20-25, 25-10, 25-13) Saturday.

The Pride has tallied three wins thus far on the season. The first two coming from its annual Pride Invitational Sept. 5-6. Led by junior Meghan McCarty (Billerica, Mass.) with 14 kills, the Pride held steadfast in defeating the Lions in the invitational.

Assisting McCarty and Regis to victory was junior Randi Garrity (Reading, Mass.) with 34 sets, and three service aces. Alanna DelRose (Watertown, Mass.) led the Pride with nine service aces, and contributed three kills.

Regis posted a .412 team attack percentage in game three, its best of the match. Defensively the Pride was stifling, tallying 12 blocks, five from McCarty.

Regis College will host Becker College Friday, September 18, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Regis College Athletic Arena.
