FREDERIQUE EARNS PRIDE INVITE ALL-TOURNAMENT NOMINATION

Weston, Mass.-The Cadets of Norwich (3-1) started off day two of the Pride Invitational with a win over host team Regis College 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-21). Norwich is currently 3-1 in the Invitational with its only loss coming against Worcester Polytechnic Institute Saturday. Regis College is 2-4 in the invitational.

Lisset Magadleno (Whitter, Calif.) was as impressive on day two as she was on Saturday. Playing as the middle-hitter, she skillfully picked apart the Regis defense.

On the opposite side of the net, Regis' Lauren Ross (Dracut, Mass.) began the match with a screaming shot to the floor, but the Pride attack would be left struggling to make it through to game three.

Rhode Island College (4-2) vs. St. Joe's (2-4)

April Oberhelman (Woonsocket, RI) played strong in the Anchormen's 3-1 (25-13, 25-18, 20-25, 25-15) defeat of the Monks Sunday. Rhode Island College and WPI are the two remaining undefeated teams going into the lunch break.

St. Joe's Caitlin Cleary (Scarborough, Maine) and Sarah Hawkes (Pownal, Maine) continued their dominant and impressive offensive attacking versus the Anchormen.

WPI (6-0) vs. Worcester State College (2-4)

The Engineers and Rhode Island College remain as the only undefeated teams entering the lunch break. The Lancers would take the dominant Engineers four games, but would fall to WPI 3-1 (18-25, 25-23, 29-27, 25-16).

Bailey Sarber (Westerly, RI) has continued her dominance, and was a factor in the Engineer's win over the Lancers. Worcester State's Kate O'Rourke (Milford, Mass.) and Lauren Saylor (Swansea, Mass.) gave a tremendous effort.

The battle of the unbeaten takes place at 11 am when WPI faces Rhode Island College.

WPI (6-0) vs. Rhode Island College (4-2)

The reign continues for the Lancers as they took down Rhode Island College 3-0 (25-16, 25-11, 25-20). "The freshman played like freshman," said head coach Luis Carvalho.

The Engineer's Becca Martern (Vernon, Conn.) and Sarber were major contributors, as well as the entire team. Rhode Island College, which has held its mistakes to a minimum through the two days, but inexperience, certainly won the better the Anchormen.
