GOLD COULD HAVE GOLDEN CAREER FOR PRIDE VOLLEYBALL

Weston, Mass.—Regis College women’s volleyball continues to add depth and talent to its incoming roster. Marriah Vengroff, assistant women’s volleyball coach, recently announced the addition of Sara Gold (North Hollywood, Calif./Norte Dame High) to the list of talent coming to Regis College in the fall.

Gold, who primarily plays liberio, will enter competing for the position on the team, but is recognized for her play on the court. “She is a great defensive player,” said Vengroff.

“She has excellent court sense,” Vengroff continued to say of her incoming recruit. Gold played in all 33 matches for her Club West team. Per match Gold averaged 15.3 digs, and 4.26 service aces.

Gold played for the Norte Dame High Knights as the team’s libero.

Regis College women’s volleyball has made three consecutive appearances in The Commonwealth Coast Conference playoffs beginning in 2007. The program has added depth to a fairly young team. The Pride graduated three players from the team in May, but returns to the floor with a solid group of underclassmen.
