WESTON, Mass. - The Regis College swimming and diving team closed out its home schedule by sweeping all aspects of Saturday's meet at the Regis Pool, with the women defeating Elms College, 157-52, while the men finished with 121 points.
Women's Results:
Ava Hubster (Crown Point, Ind.) delivered standout results, winning the 400yd IM with a time of 5:37.48 and the 200yd butterfly at 2:46.04. She also added a second-place finish in the 500yd freestyle (6:25.26), while
Kali Taylor (Brattleboro, Vt.) earned multiple first-place finishes in the 200yd freestyle (2:13.64), 50yd freestyle (27.20), and 500yd freestyle (5:53.19).
Olivia Luhnau (Castle Rocl, Colo.) dominated the backstroke and individual medley events, taking first in the 100yd backstroke (1:09.16) and 100yd IM (1:04.26). She also secured second place in the 100yd freestyle (1:00.16).
Sophia Nylin showcased her strength in breaststroke, winning the 100yd breaststroke (1:24.23) and 200yd breaststroke (3:13.89). She also added a second-place finish in the 50yd freestyle (31.06).
Riley Aptt (Woburn, Mass.) impressed with a victory in the 200yd backstroke (2:33.18) and a second-place finish in the 100yd butterfly (1:12.37).
Jenna Silva (New Bedford, Mass.) contributed with third-place finishes in the 200yd butterfly (2:56.05) and the 100yd IM (1:19.26).
The Pride capped their performance with a win in the 200yd freestyle relay. The team of Taylor, Hubster, Silva, and Abby Parker (Marshfield, Mass.) clocked in at 1:59.69 to secure the top spot.
Men's Results:
The Regis men started strong, winning the 200yd medley relay. The quartet of Josh Dion, Ryan Kim (Los Angeles, Calif.), Cody Werner (Bettendorf, Iowa) , and Aryaman Nagaraj (Watertown, Mass.) finished first with a time of 1:53.67.
Werner led the men's team with three first-place finishes, winning the 200yd freestyle (2:00.35), 200yd butterfly (2:14.57), and 100yd butterfly (56.46), while Dion delivered two wins in backstroke events, earning first in the 100yd backstroke (1:11.09) and 200yd backstroke (2:23.17). He also secured third in 1m diving with a score of 242.35.
Nagaraj dominated the sprint freestyle races, finishing first in the 50yd freestyle (23.64) and 100yd freestyle (50.56), to also placed second in the 200yd backstroke (2:28.51).
Kim swept the breaststroke events, taking first in the 100yd breaststroke (1:04.94) and 200yd breaststroke (2:31.53). He added another victory in the 100yd IM (1:02.22).
Liam Austin (Boston, Mass.) was stellar on the diving board, earning first place in 1m diving with a score of 364.45. Teammate Michael Zammuto (Burlington, Mass.) followed with 302.85.
Austin, Luhnau, and Aptt were all recognized for their significant contributions to the Regis swimming and diving teams in today's senior day ceremonies.
The Pride finished it's regular season with the women collecting a 157-52 victory over Elms while the men's team of Regis earned 121 points.
Regis College will compete at the 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Swimming and Diving Championships Feb. 7-9 hosted by Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
