BOSTON – The Regis College women's swimming and diving team split its dual meet Friday at the Holmes Sports Center, defeating Elms College 110-76, but losing to Simmons University, 185-53.
Women's Results:
- Kali Taylor (Brattleboro, Vt.) was a standout with three second-place finishes, including in the 200yd freestyle (2:08.20), 100yd freestyle (58.71), and 500yd freestyle (5:54.98).
- Olivia Luhnau (Castle Rock, Colo.) secured two second-place finishes, one in the 50yd backstroke and another in the 100yd IM (1:08.33).
- Sophia Nylin (Malden, Mass.) earned a third-place finish in the 50yd breaststroke (39.05) and a fifth-place finish in the 100yd breaststroke (1:26.46).
- Kaylee King (Norwell, Mass.) placed in the top 5 multiple times, finishing 4th in the 50yd backstroke (38.76), 100yd backstroke (1:24.16), and 50yd freestyle (33.02).
- Ava Hubster (Crown Point, Ind.) placed third in the 100yd backstroke at 1:15.72.
- Izzy Serrecchia (Woburn, Mass.) finished the 50yd butterfly in 53.06 followed by a sixth place finish in the 200yd freestyle at 3:05.25.
Men's Results:
- Cody Werner (Bettendorf, Iowa.) claimed a first-place finish in the 50yd butterfly (26.38), and he also performed well in the 100yd freestyle (55.25) and 50yd backstroke (29.48).
- Aryaman Nagaraj (Watertown, Mass.) earned first-place in the men's 100yd IM (1:03.14) and the 50yd freestyle (23.98), alongside a strong 2nd-place finish in the 50yd breaststroke (34.36).
- Ryan Kim (Los Angeles, Calif.) had a stellar meet, finishing first in the men's 50yd breaststroke (30.81) and 100yd freestyle (56.89).
- Michael Zammuto (Burlington, Mass.) had solid performances in the distance events, finishing the 1000yd freestyle in 16:02.60 and the 3m diving with a score of 185.65.
- The men's relay team, consisting of Ryan Kim, Nagaraj, Dion, and Werner, took 1st place in the 200yd medley relay with a time of 1:58.23.
Diving Results:
- Liam Austin (Boston, Mass.) had an impressive showing in the 1m diving with a score of 188.35, while Zammuto earned 172.35, and Josh Dion followed closely at 164.75.
- On the 3m board, Zammuto led the men's team with a score of 185.65, just ahead of Austin (179.35).
The Regis College swimming and diving team quickly turns around and heads back to Weston to host Elms College on Saturday, Jan. 18, for its Senior Day meet starting at 11:00 a.m.
