Women’s Swim and Dive Returns to Competition

BOSTON – The Regis College women's swimming and diving team returned to its 2023-24 schedule Saturday at the Holmes Sports Center, defeating Colby-Sawyer College (156-58) and Elms College (125-107) but losing to host Simmons University (146-98).

The Pride got off to a strong start, winning the first two events of the meet. The quartet of Megan Miller (Quincy, Mass.), Olivia Luhnau (Castle Rock, Colo.), Jenna Silva (New Bedford, Mass.), and Kaylee King (Norwell, Mass.) finished first in the 200 medley relay with an overall time of 1:56.03, followed by a victory for Ava Hubster (Crown Point, Ind.) in the 1000 freestyle in 12:42.25.

Miller picked up the only other overall event victory for the Pride, touching the wall first in the 100 backstroke by over two seconds with a time of 1:07.35. She also finished second in the 50 backstroke in 31.24 seconds and third in the 100 individual medley with a time of 1:12.97.

Luhnau finished right behind Miller in third place in the 50 backstroke in 32.60 seconds as well as second in the 50 breaststroke in 37.15 seconds and in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:20.48. Riley Aptt (Woburn, Mass.) finished fourth in the 1000 freestyle in 13:21.57, in the 100 backstroke in 1:11.60, and in the 100 individual medley with a time of 1:13.63.

Regis College will host Albertus Magnus College in a dual meet Friday, Jan. 12, starting at 6 p.m. at the Regis Pool.
