Cashman Murphy Selected 2022-23 GNAC Women’s Diver of Year

WINTHROP, Mass. - Capping off a season that featured another Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) individual title as well as qualification for the NCAA Diving Regionals, senior Cashman Murphy (Westwood, Mass.) has been named the 2022-23 GNAC Women's Swimming and Diving Diver of the Year, as the major awards were announced by the league office Wednesday, March 15.

For the second consecutive year, Murphy claimed the GNAC title in one meter diving, breaking the GNAC Championship scoring record by almost 40 points with an 11-dive total of 420.50. In addition, she finished second in three-meter diving for All-GNAC honors with a six-dive score of 182.60.

Thanks to 11-dive scores of 432.45 Nov. 19 and 420.20 Dec. 2, Murphy qualified for the NCAA Diving Regionals, finishing in 25th place with an 11-dive score of 328.85 at the Division III Region 3 Diving Championships held at the Palladium Natatorium in New York City.

Murphy won both the one meter diving and three meter diving titles at the 2022 GNAC Championships as well as the three meter diving title at the 2022 NEISDA Championships, earning Regis' first-ever New England championship in a diving event. Named the 2022 Regis Co-Female Junior Student-Athlete of the Year, Murphy set the school and Regis Pool records for a six-dive score in one meter diving at 254.95 Jan. 22, 2022.

A two-time Academic All-GNAC honoree, Murphy was selected to the College Sports Communicators Women's Swimming and Diving Academic All-District Team two weeks ago. She is Regis' representative on the GNAC Women's Swimming and Diving All-Sportsmanship Team. First-year student-athlete Aryaman Nagaraj (Watertown, Mass.) was selected to represent the Pride on the GNAC Men's Swimming and Diving All-Sportsmanship Team.

Regis College sponsors 20 intercollegiate sports, including men's and women's swimming and diving, within NCAA Division III as a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.
