Megan Miller Named NEISDA Female Swimmer of Week

WESTON, Mass. – After showing a significant amount of improvement in a short span of time, sophomore Megan Miller (Quincy, Mass.) has been named the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Female Swimmer of the Week, announced Tuesday evening by the coaches' organization.

In last Saturday's dual meet at Eastern Connecticut State, Miller cut time in each of the events she competed in, starting with an improvement of over one-and-a-half seconds in her 50 backstroke split to 31.86 seconds as she led off the 200 medley relay. She further improved upon her 50 backstroke time in the individual event, posting a mark of 31.61 seconds for a fifth place finish overall.

Later in the meet, Miller finished sixth in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:05.06, almost two-and-a-half seconds quicker than her previous best mark. She then earned a fifth place finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:09.35, over two seconds faster than her previous top time in the event.

"Megan comes to practice and works hard every day. I can see her confidence building in her swimming," Diana Matthews, Regis College head swimming and diving coach, said. "She is always up for the challenge and always positive and supportive of her teammates."

Regis College next competes in a home double-dual meet, welcoming Norwich University and Babson College to the Regis Pool Saturday, Nov. 13, for a 1 p.m. start.
