On the women's side, sophomores Shannan O'Neil (Lowell, Mass.) and Haley Bowen, as well as the freshmen pair of Brenna Melanson (Reading, Mass.) and Svetlana Loranger (East Freetown, Mass.) led the way for Regis. Collectively, the four teammates took first place in the 200 Yard Medley Relay with a time of 2:01.00.

Individually, O'Neil took first place in the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 13:03.72, while Bowen took first in the 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:43.31. Loranger finished first in both the 200 Yard Backstroke (2:25.64) and the 50 Yard Butterfly (29.62). The men's team was led by Alex Graf (Newton, Mass.) and Nick Yerzyk (West Hills, Calif.), who each finished the day with four first place finishes, highlighted by a win in the 200 Yard Medley Relay. Graf and Yerzyk, along with Stephen McGovern (Dorchester, Mass.) and Djordje Mandic (Portland, Maine), took first in the event with a time of 1:45.65.

Graf also took first in the 200 Yard Individual Medley (2:11.43), the 200 Yard Freestyle (1:54.59), and the 500 Yard Freestyle (5:23.40). Yerzyk took first in the 100 Yard Butterfly and the 200 Yard Backstroke with times of 55.60 and 2:12.44, respectively. The senior also finished in first place in the 50 Yard Butterfly with a time of 24.50.

Coach Sweeney said he was extremely pleased with the efforts of both teams. He stated, "We did a tremendous job racing tired today. This week we began a different training program with a lot more quality and faster swimming in practice. We had a lot of sore and tired swimmers, yet they stepped up to the challenge and put in about 95% in season best times. And we had swimmers in many of their off events."

"It is very exciting to see the team really coming together and focused in the classroom and in the pool. This will give us incredible results for our team GPAs and at our championship meets."

Both the men's and women's teams will be back in action next Saturday, November 17th. The Pride will travel to St. Joseph's (Maine) for a dual meet scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
