PRIDE STAYS STRONG TO BEAT SCOTS 127-121

WESTON, Mass.- Weston, Mass.-The Regis College women's swimming and diving team competed against Gordon College this past weekend. The Pride took down its first victory of the season defeating the Scots by the score of 127-121.

The Pride was led by the superb swimming of freshmen Shannan O'Neil (Lowell, Mass.) and Haley Bowen (Litchfield, N.H.) who tallied two first place finishes during the meet. O'Neil swam to a first place finish in the 100yd backstroke and was an integral part in the 200yd medley relay team that finished with a time of 2:06.95. Bowen produced a first place finish in the 100yd breaststroke with a time of 1:16.26s and assisted in the 200yd relay team victory that featured fellow swimmers O'Neil, Kelly Finn (Melrose, Mass.) and Yassyra Diaz (Dorchester, Mass.). 

Ana Kudsi (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine) and Stacy Burns (Waltham, Mass.) finshed the day on a high note for the Pride. Kudsi took a first place finish in the 1000yd freestyle, while Burns rallied to the number one spot in 50yd backstroke to give the Pride 127 points on the meet.

The Crimson and Gold return to action Saturday November 19th when the team travels to Standish, Maine to take on the Monks from Saint Joseph College.
