ESTRADA WINS 200-YARD FREESTYLE IN REGIS COLLEGE SWIMMING INVITATIONAL

WESTON, Mass.—Christina Estrada won the 200-yard freestyle in Regis College Swimming Invitational Saturday. Regis College finished fifth of the six schools invited to swim in the meet. Mount Holyoke College won first place, amassing 813 points. The Pride scored 253 total points.

Of the 16 events Saturday, Regis College placed in the top 10 in seven events. Estrada and teammate Lindsay Rananhan each performed well in the events in which they competed.

Sophomore Megan Pratt and freshman Stacy Burns each contributed in their respective events, scoring points for Regis College. The foursome swam an eighth place best time of 2:08.47 in the 200-medley relay.

Ranahan had a fourth place finish in the 500-freestyle, Regis’ second best personal finish of the invitational. Estrada captured a top eight finish in the same event.
Every Regis College swimmer faced talented opposition from the other five schools. Mount Holyoke and the University of New England placed many of its swimmers, with Regis battling for the third place in many events.
The loss during the invite drops Regis College to 0-6 on the season, and looking for its first win November 20 when it hosts St. Joseph’s of Maine at 1:00 p.m.
