STONE NAMED NEWBA, ECAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College sophomore forward Brittany Stone has been named the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) PrestoSports Player of the Week and the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Player of the Week it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Stone had the best two game stretch of her collegiate career this past week. She averaged 32.5 points on 23-of-27 (85.2%) shooting, with 10.0 rebounds, 2.0 blocks in 26.5 minutes of play during two Pride victories. The sophomore forward also went 19-of-20 (95%) from the charity stripe. Against Lesley, Stone set the program's single game scoring record with 37 points on 14-of-16 (87.5%) shooting in 20 minutes of play. She continued her post presence at Southern Vermont in the season finale with a game-high 28 points and 11 rebounds en route to her 10th double-double of the season.

Stone joins teammate Amanda Hawkesworth (Abington, Mass.) as the only Pride players to receive NEWBA and ECAC Player of the Week honors this season. Stone was also named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Regis returns to the court on Friday when they host the winner of the Southern Vermont/Elms contest in the NECC Semifinals at 6:00 p.m.
