RAMONAS GRABS NECC PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

WESTON, Mass. – After helping the Pride pick up three wins last week, Regis College junior forward Claire Ramonas (Portland, Maine) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week for women's basketball. Ramonas averaged 13.3 points on the week, helping the Pride remain a perfect 8-0 in league play.

On January 15, Ramonas knocked down 12 points, grabbed nine rebounds, added four assists, two steals, and one block in a 71-38 win over Daniel Webster College. She recorded a double-double in a 72-37 victory over Bay Path on January 17, scoring 12 points on a stellar 5-for-6 shooting from the field and grabbing ten rebounds. She also added three assists and three steals.

Ramonas scored a game-high 16 points in a 74-37 win over Elms on Saturday, and nearly earned herself another double-double after grabbing eight rebounds. The junior also added a block, one assist, and six steals to help the Pride secure the victory.

Through 15 games this season, Ramonas is currently averaging 12.5 points per game, 6.7 rebounds per game, 2.9 assists per game, and 2.3 steals per game.

The Pride will look to keep their winning streak alive as they travel to Mitchell College on Saturday, with tip-off coming at 1:00 p.m.
