RODRIGUEZ GRABS NECC WEEKLY HONOR

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College senior Sabree Rodriguez (Brockton, Mass.) has been named this week's New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week in women's basketball, it was announced on Monday morning by the league office. Rodriguez helped lead the Pride (5-4, 2-0 NECC) to a 2-2 mark over the winter break.

In her first game of the season against Clark, Sabree Rodriguez scored 14 points and added eight rebounds and three assists in a 67-54 setback to the Cougars as part of the Bowdoin Holiday Tournament. The next day, the senior scored eight points but added three blocks as Regis took third place with a 56-44 win over Clarkson University.

Rodriguez had her best game since her return in a 66-61 win over Western Connecticut State as she tallied 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting to go with seven rebounds and six steals. Rodriguez wrapped up the week with her first double-double of 2013, notching 11 points and 10 rebounds in a 57-52 loss to Colby.

For the season, the senior is averaging 12.8 points per game on 50% shooting, while adding 6.8 rebounds and 2.25 steals per game as well as 1.5 blocks per contest.

Sabree Rodriguez and the Regis College Pride return to action on Tuesday night as the Crimson and Gold host Mitchell College in an NECC contest at 5:30 p.m.
